High-efficiency plasma ignition achieved a new breakthrough

Recently, Unit 3 of the Phase II Project of Jiangxi Shenhua Jiujiang Power Plant successfully completed the 168-hour full-load test operation, marking the official commercial operation of this 1-million-kilowatt coal-fired power generation unit. During the construction of this national key energy project, Yantai Longyuan provided important technical support for the smooth commissioning of the unit by virtue of its new-type digital switching power supply cabinet and high-efficiency, long-life, lightweight plasma ignition and flame stabilization technology.As a key construction project of the China Energy Group, the Phase II Expansion Project of Jiangxi Shenhua Jiujiang Power Plant has built 2 new 1000MW high-efficiency ultra-supercritical double-reheat coal-fired units, adopting advanced technologies such as all-steel suspension structure and double-layer plasma ignition system. After completion and commissioning, the project will significantly improve the reliability of regional power supply, optimize the energy structure, and provide stable and clean energy support. In this project, Yantai Longyuan gave full play to its own technical advantages and provided two innovative technical solutions with industry-leading standards.

As an innovative product of Yantai Longyuan, the digital switching power supply cabinet has demonstrated excellent performance since its first application in newly-built 1-million-kilowatt coal-fired power units. This technology adopts all-digital high-frequency switching technology, chopping technology, and multi-module redundant parallel connection mode, which reduces harmonic interference by 50% and comprehensive energy consumption by 20%. Through the innovative equipment structure design, the weight of this power supply cabinet is reduced by 80%, greatly lowering the installation and maintenance costs. At the same time, it has modular functions and hot-swappable capability, along with advantages such as small equipment size, high power factor, and low harmonic current, making it a model of grid-friendly green equipment.

Compared with the traditional plasma ignition system, the high-efficiency, long-life, lightweight plasma ignition and flame stabilization reduces equipment power consumption by 40%, cuts equipment weight by nearly 80%, and increases the service life of core components by more than 3 times, making it more suitable for the flame stabilization needs of long-cycle and low-load operations. This technological breakthrough not only improves the equipment operation efficiency, but also saves a large amount of operating costs for the power plant. It is estimated that compared with the micro-oil ignition solution, this plasma ignition technology can save more than 1.6 million yuan in costs every 200 hours.
